Ryan PlankenhornFreshmen Defense
Ryan Plankenhorn has been with the Trailblazer football coaching staff since the 2008 season. This is Coach Plankenhorn’s 13th season of coaching football and he will be working with the freshman primarily, coaching all aspects of defense to his players. He will also be calling freshman defense and assisting the varsity on Friday nights.
Coach Plankenhorn is from Garden City Kansas and moved to Overland Park area after attending college at Kansas State University in 2004. While attending KSU, Coach Plankenhorn graduated with a BS degree in Psychology. In 2006 Coach Plankenhorn went back to school and attended Avila University’s teaching certification program. Upon completing the program, coach Plankenhorn student taught at Gardner Edgerton High School during the 2006-2007 school year. After completion of the student teaching program, Coach Plankenhorn was hired by the Gardner Edgerton school district as a Social Studies teacher. Coach Plankenhorn also received his masters in education from Avilia University in the Spring of 2015. Coach Plankenhorn is currently teaching Psychology and World History and loves every moment of it.
Coach Plankenhorn was married in the summer of 2007 to his beautiful wife Cressyn. Along with being married to the love of his life, coach Plankenhorn has two children as well. Lachlyn who is a second grader at Madison Elementary, and Wrennyn who is a spunky 3 year old boy that is always into things.
As a coach of young men Mr. Plankenhorn looks forward to teaching his players ways to improve on and off the field.
